It’s been an eventful couple of months at the JACC. Not only did we host Martha Redbone and John Sebastian, both part of our SEASON 42 concert series, but we also hosted numerous community events, as well as a Twig furniture workshop.
The Alaska Trade Industry Association set up their trade show in our main hall, and at the same we used our gallery for the municipal election. (Vote!) Ballroom dance accompanied both October and November’s First Friday’s.
The Juneau Douglas Little Theater held their 24 hr. miracle, the Teen council threw off a well attended Teen Carnival, and the JACC housed concerts and community events galore — Juneau Jazz & Classics Cabaret Workshop and Concert, Juneau Student Symphony’s Fall Concert, Juneau Community Bands Taku Winds Concert, Woosh Kinaadeiyi’s Poetry Grand Slam, the Clan Conference’s Warming of the Hands, and Juneau Lyric Opera’s Halloween ball, while still leaving a few days for Rotary’s 80th birthday party, and a lovely wedding.

And events don’t stop at the JACC.
Upcoming JACC events include Letters Aloud (Nov.24), the third event in our SEASON 43 lineup, Ballroom dance (Dec.11), the Holiday Pops (Dec.13) and the JAHC’s beer and wine tasting and last minute shopping extravaganza, Naughty or Nice (Dec.19).
Upcoming community events which will be held at the JACC include a SEAGLA vigil (Nov.20), SAWC’s Wild & Scenic film festival (Nov.21), the Public Market (Nov.27-29). Theater Latitude 58 will be transforming the main hall into a theater the first week in December, and then the JACC will be serving as the judging rooms for the First LEGO league’s robotics judging.
Overall, we’re a pretty busy and bustling community center every season. Come on down and enjoy the fun!
