Every First Friday of the month downtown Juneau is buzzing with fresh art on display in galleries, restaurants, cafes, and other local businesses. Receptions are held, drinks and hors d’oeuvres are served to the public.

Here at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center (JACC) we host a reception from 4:30pm-7pm at our JAHC Gallery for our most recent artists work on display.

“Celebrating 30 Years with
Juneau Jazz & Classics”

This year, to launch our 30^th Anniversary season, we have a new and very special celebration planned: a First Friday Gallery Opening at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center, welcoming the entire community to share their own recollections of Jazz & Classics Festivals past while looking ahead to the future. Our friend and cellist Zuill Bailey will be at the Gallery Opening on September 4^th from 5 to 6:30 pm for a Meet & Greet. On display will be memorabilia from the three decades of the Festival, and JJ&C will be unveiling their new logo for the 30^th Year Anniversary, designed by local artist Tanna Peters.

We hope you’ll join us for First Friday at the JACC, as well as “Three Men and a Baby Grand” on Sunday, September 6^th, featuring violinist Benjamin Breen, pianist Awadagin Pratt, and of course cellist Zuill Bailey. The performance begins at 7 p.m., also at the JACC, and is a benefit for our 2016 Festival. Juneau Jazz & Classics truly has a stellar season ahead, and this promises to be a wonderful weekend of new memories in the making, as we all tune up together.

About Juneau Jazz & Classics: Juneau Jazz & Classics is an annual festival whose mission is to bring world-class jazz, blues and classical musicians to Juneau to provide rich musical experiences and educational opportunities throughout Juneau and remote communities in Southeast Alaska.  The Festival is designed to teach as well as to enrich; to serve those who can afford to purchase tickets and those who cannot; to foster a love of music in all children, while inspiring and encouraging aspiring young musicians; to reach out to audiences of all ages and from all walks of life; to offer musical diversity in a variety of locations; and, to attract visitors to the community.
