Juneau’s New JACC Launches Groundbreaker Fundraising Campaign
Juneau, August 16, 2017
The Juneau Arts and Humanities Council (JAHC) and the New JACC Partnership Board announced today the launch of a limited offer Groundbreaker Campaign for the New Juneau Arts and Culture Center (New JACC). This invitation to become a Groundbreaker will be formally announced at the Mayor’s Awards for the Arts on Sunday at 4PM at the JACC.
The four month Groundbreaker Campaign was designed to generate revenue to keep the New JACC on schedule for demolition of the current JACC and construction of the new Center that will replace it. “We need funds now as we prepare to put shovels in the ground next summer” commented Annie Calkins, Co-Chair of the project’s Capital Campaign Committee
Groundbreakers will contribute $1000 between August 20 and December 31, 2017 and pledge $3000 a year for the next three years. Recognition for Groundbreaker generosity includes:
- A permanent Groundbreaker naming exhibit in the new building
- An invitational event as we break ground in Summer, 2018
- An annual Groundbreaker party in the New JACC
- The gift of a limited numbered commemorative artist print commissioned by the JAHC
- Exclusive invitation to First Ticket Sales Party for Wearable Arts tickets on November 17 before other members
The vision for Juneau’s new arts and culture center is to create a space that is welcoming, inspiring, and inclusive of all artists and audiences. Shared experiences within the community hall, theater, lobby, visual art gallery, café, artist shop and meeting rooms will make the new space the “heart and soul of Juneau”, where we are inspired by nature and driven to create. In line with the overall vision, the near-complete design phase included collaboration with artists and the community, who, together, will make and experience the arts in the New JACC.
