Juneau Arts & Humanities Council Announces
Judges’ Top Three Wearable Art Extravaganza Pieces and the Audience’s Favorite Entries

The Juneau Arts & Humanities Council (JAHC) announces the winners of the 2019 Wearable Art
Extravaganza: Tailwind.

The four-judge panel awarded:

• First Place: “Wishes & Prayers in Turbulent Times” (entry No. 14) by Rhonda Jenkins Gardinier.
• Second Place: “Flipping Out” (entry No. 25) by Michelle Morris,
• Third Place: “Calm in the Wild”  (entry No. 3) by Jessica Sullivan.

People’s  Choice awards:

• First Place: Morgan McCutcheon’s “T-60” (entry No. 9),
• Second Place: “Wishes & Prayers in Turbulent Times” by Rhonda Jenkins Gardinier
• Third Place: “Flipping Out” by Michelle Morris

The four judges for this year’s Wearable Art were Melissa Griffiths, Patricia Hull, Gigi Monroe, and Pua
Maunu, and each was allowed to select a piece for Honorable Mention:

• Griffiths chose “Kith and Kin” (entry No. 13) by Peggy Corazza and Alicia Harris;
• Hull honored “Sylph” (entry No. 24) by Kathleen Harper and Anne Szeliski;
• Monroe named “T-60” by Mogan McCutchen;
• Maunu selected “The Siren” (entry No. 23) by Clare Boily and Hal Turman.
