Waipuna

Celebrating 15 years at the forefront of Hawaiian contemporary music, Waipuna is an exciting collaboration of three talented individuals from celebrated Hawaiian musical families. Waipuna consistently wins Na Hōkū Hanohano (Hawai‘i’s “Grammys”) Awards every time they have a new album, from 2012 to the present, for a total 9 awards. Their 7th album Uluwehi won them 2024 Na Hoku Awards for Island Music Album of the Year, plus their release won Graphic Design Award, recognizing their album cover design by Kanai’a Nakamura shot at an almost inaccessible O’ahu valley.

Caitlin Warbelow

Caitlin Warbelow hails from a family of entrepreneurs and bush pilots in Alaska and for the last seven years served as the violinist/fiddler in the original Broadway cast of the Tony Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated musical, Come From Away. Caitlin holds degrees from Columbia University (M.S., Urban Planning) and Boston University (B.A., Anthropology and B.Mus., Violin Performance), and, oddly, once turned down a PhD in Epidemiology at NYU. Though she’s made her career as a musician, that was a bit of a fluke. She originally planned to be a scientist, and has never quite managed to retrain her brain to be anything else.
