Posted: November 9th, 2011 by kari

Perseverance Theatre is currently raising funds to kickstart the creation of a new play on the Alaska Native civil rights leader William Paul. The play is to be written by Ishmael Hope.

Perseverance Theatre’s Executive director Art Rotch says:

“I hope you’ll help him complete the kickstarter to support his research and writing time. This is a subject of great import to Alaska Natives, to Alaska’s history, and tremendously illimunating to the story of civil rights in the US. And Ishmael Hope is the ideal person to do this reaearch inot the amazing untold story of the first Alaska Native lawyer, civil rights leader, member of the territorial legislator, and champion of land claims in Alaska.

Please help us meet this little goal (only $1800 more to go to fund the campaign) with a contribution, by posting this link to facebook or twitter, or forwarding this appeal to people you know who would like
to support an Alaska Native playwright telling an amazing and untold story, please do so, with many thanks from me and Ishmael.”
