This is the Tenth Annual UAS Juried Student Art Exhibition!
Work in the exhibition will include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, photography,
design, and Northwest Coast artwork. UAS art students will have created all artwork during the current
academic year.

Opening reception: April 6, 2012 4:30pm to 7:00pm

Patrice Helmar is a fifth generation Alaskan, born and raised in Juneau. Her father, Paul Helmar, was a local photographer and fisherman who owned a camera store in the downtown area.
Patrice’s photography is inspired, in part, by her desire to honor and continue the craft of her father. After graduating from high school, Patrice earned a B.A. at Southern Oregon University, where she studied creative writing and art. Patrice’s work is influenced by documentary and street photography, as well as by modern painting and literature.

The general public is invited to the reception and exhibition, which will run until April 28, 2012.
