Technically Art Workshop Series: Event Production & Tech
SAVE THE DATES: August 14–16, 2025
The Technically Art Workshop Series: Event Production & Tech is a three-day, hands-on training program designed to build technical capacity in Southeast Alaska’s arts, culture, and event sectors. This August 2025 installment expands on the successful January session with deeper, topic-specific workshops for emerging and experienced event technicians, producers, and community organizers.
Participants will engage in focused, skill-building sessions such as:
- Event Production 101 Pt. 2, with separate tracks for arts-focused events and professional conferences
- Lighting 101, covering essential lighting gear and hands-on setup and focusing
- Sound 101–103, progressing from basic sound systems to real-time sound checks with a live band and more advanced setups including drums and DIs
- Stage Management Panels, tailored to both performing arts/theater and concerts/festivals
To complement the technical training, the event includes behind-the-scenes venue tours (JACC, Centennial Hall, local churches, schools, and theaters) and a Downtown Spaces “Pub Crawl”, offering participants a unique opportunity to learn directly from bar owners and event bookers who host live performances across Juneau.
This workshop series directly supports Southeast Alaska’s creative economy by equipping local residents with technical production skills, fostering cross-sector collaboration, and increasing the region’s capacity to host diverse, high-quality events.
