The Arts Council, in collaboration with the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, has offered after school and summertime arts programs for the resident children in Geneva Woods and Cedar Park, under the direction of local artist Jim Fowler.

During the summer, the programs are led by Sue Ann Randall, Miah Lager, Sarah Conarro, and Lily Hudson. Children work on a variety of art projects, primarily self-directed, ranging from painting to puppets, They go on field trips and their art work is put on public display at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center.

Above are the banners created by the children of Cedar Park for the new Sundays at Savikko concert series in the Pioneer Pavilion.

The program was funded out of a drug-prevention grant. The grant has now ended and is not being renewed. We are seeking other funding to keep the arts available to these kids!
